Any employer with at least 10% of their workforce comprised of Generation Y, including for-profit companies, not-for-profit companies, and government employers were eligible to nominate their organization through a detailed survey assessing their workplace. For the purposes of this study, Generation Y was defined as employees ages 28 years and younger. However, Brill Street considers Generation Y a new perspective, not an age. We actively work with people across all generations.

Finalists scoring highly in the below areas were selected for an on-site interview to verify the survey data, hear first-hand from employees what makes their workplaces unique, and experience a day in the life within the organization.

Using a proprietary mathematical model developed by GfK Custom Research North America - a world leading marketing research organization - companies were ranked on a 300-point scale. The model was weighted by the key attributes that Gen Yers told us were important in the workplace.
