Everyone loves the latest technological breakthroughs, especially the generation that grew up eating, sleeping, and breathing them. Model Metrics, an SaaS company, consistently pushes itself to the cutting edge of technology and for tech-savvy Generation Y employees, that's the best place to be.

When asked what makes Model Metrics unique, Corporate Strategy Analyst Evan Smith says, "The subject matter. Cutting edge technology attracts a certain mindset of people and draws a certain type of personality. Everybody has an entrepreneurial gene to them."

That kind of personality is the kind to appreciate high-tech tools, and the company definitely delivers. "We all have iPhones, wireless cards, MAC computers, phone systems that are forwarded to our cell phones," says Principal Kevin Turner. "We do integrations with our clients with our technology. [We have] a Gen Yer who is responsible for tweeting about us and posting things on Facebook. He communicates with the outside world. We're always trying to figure out how [this [kind of technology] will benefit the organization."

There's more to the company than just high-end technology tools and tasks, however. Turner says that open communication is important, too. "It's more than open doors--there are no doors," he says. "We share financials with the company because it helps people to know what's going on."

That openness goes a long way in making employees feel comfortable. Says Smith, "The CEO treats you like a peer. He treats all employees as peers rather than a hierarchical thing. He's very candid and open." Smith says his coworkers share the same sense of camaraderie. "I view my coworkers as my peers. It doesn't matter how senior they are, it's all people that are willing to have fun. You can let your guard down."

One of Smith's coworkers, Moneka Bahadur, an Associate Consultant, says that the way things work at Model Metrics is one of the reasons the company continues to thrive. "We're prospering in this down economy. We're in an industry that's in the forefront and ever growing." Bahadur says that a lot of this is due to the fact that there is a constant evaluation process. "Every week we have a consultant meeting where we talk about all the issues with our team and how we can resolve them. I meet with my manager all the time to find out what I can do better."
