#4 Euro RSCG Chicago

It makes sense that a company that places creativity at the heart of their business would get creative with their company culture. For employees at marketing and ad agency Euro RSCG Chicago, ideas flow freely, voices are heard, and Gen Y is valued. It all combines to make the firm a leader in a highly creative industry and a great place to work, too.

"It's collaborative, and creativity is bouncing off the walls."

"If you look at the agency, we're looking ahead of the curve: we want to get to the future first,'" says Director of Communications Eric Edge. "It's the goal of the company, so we embrace Generation Y. Our business is so open and flexible and that's how we'll get to the future first. When you put it all together, it is a place where Gen Y can learn and grow."

"There's this energy," says Account Coordinator Maya Carroll. "It's collaborative, and creativity is bouncing off the walls. You have access to senior leaders, too. They send out letters where the CEO addresses what's going on; he talks to us all." Carroll, a Gen Yer, says the extra benefits add to the creative environment. "We have gym membership reimbursements if you go a certain number of times, which is nice extra bonus. We have summer parties for agency meetings--once we went to the beach for 6 hours during the day with coworkers to hang out and listen to music."

Anyone who has worked in a creative industry knows that ideas come from all over and the more fuel added to the brainstorming fire, the better. At Euro RSCG, the diversity of the company contributes greatly to the overall goal.

"The environment is cool because you have a lot of different people coming from all over, from both coasts or not from this country," says Associate Account Director Sundi Brewer-Griffin. "It's a diverse mix. You see and meet a lot of cool people, and they're all really bright."

Brewer-Griffin also loves that his job varies from day to day. "It's definitely a range between knowing what you're going to come in and see in the morning and not knowing what will happen at 5pm. There's a lot of variety within my job--you never know what you'll get."

Euro RSCG also stokes the creative fires with many outreach and community programs, extensive training and "lunch and learn" sessions, and even holds art-making events. And if that doesn't get the creative juices flowing, there's a ping-pong table, too.
